We’re Back!
We’ve just returned from our trip to Walt Disney World! It’s always a little depressing to return home, but bills need to be paid and there’s a lot to keep us occupied until our next trip. Our trip went by so fast, but we made a lot more great Disney memories that we can’t wait to share with everyone!
Here’s a quick overview:
We spent two days driving down from New York to Florida, and the road trip with 2 kids went very well, thanks to some great activity planning by Lisa, and some money well spent on a DVD system for the car.
We stayed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first time and all I can say is “Wow!” We enjoyed the pools, the restaurants, the theming, and of course, we loved seeing animals right outside our window and almost everywhere we went around the hotel. We found ourselves wanting to spend more time at the resort than heading over to the park.
We loved experiencing things that were new since our last visit, like New Fantasyland, the updated Disney Junior Live on Stage, as well as the new Wilderness Explorers at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We also made sure to see some old favorites as well!
We also had our share of little black clouds following us around. It rained every day at the Parks, Bella got sick, and I ended up having to spend some time at the hospital myself for a rather bizarre issue. On top of all that I lost a dear friend when my favorite hat fell into the Seven Seas Lagoon and sunk to the bottom.
But we didn’t let that dampen our spirits! We squeezed in some extra time at Downtown Disney before spending a few fabulous days of relaxation at Disney’s Vero Beach resort! We then made up for a missed breakfast reservation by stopping by WDW for a magical half day on our way home!
All in all, it was a trip to remember! (and to blog about!)

Yes, thankfully more ups than downs, and I'd rather be in Disney when it rains then be at home when it rains! I am hopeful that we've turned the corner on the sicknesses and we can finish out the summer all healthy!

Thanks, Mike! No worries! I know we caught you off guard there and I was dealing with my issue that day. I'm horrible with names as well. Lisa is the one that spotted you and put it all together. I hope we'll meet again sometime in the future!

Hey James! I'm sorry you were sick, and I'm also sorry that I didn't have more time to chat when we bumped into one another at Hollywood Studios. My memory can be atrocious, and while I remembered meeting you and your wife, for the life of me I couldn't remember your names, so I'm sorry for that. Hopefully we can meet up in the future one other time for a longer period of time!

Talk about having a bit of everything happen! I am sorry about the illnesses and lost hat, but it sounds like the pluses outweighed the minuses. I hope everyone is healthy again. The photos are great James, especially the rain! It would not be a DW vacation without some rain, LOL.

Thanks, Julie! We highly recommend AKL! Even if you don't have a Savannah View, there are so many places to stop and look at the view of the animals. We stayed in Jambo House and went over to the Kidani side to use the pool and to eat at Sanaa! Everything there was fantastic! We will definitely be staying there again someday!
