Christmas Shops in Walt Disney World

Part of the holiday experience at Walt Disney World is the Christmas shopping.  All the shops transform themselves into a holiday wonderland.  Fortunately, if you aren’t able to witness this magical transformation resort-wide, there are four shops in Walt Disney World that are dedicated to Christmas the whole year through.  In these stores, you can step into the magic of Disney at Christmastime, and walk out with a few treasured souvenirs.

One of our favorite family traditions is to pick up a new Christmas ornament for our tree on every visit to Walt Disney World.  These make great souvenirs because when it comes time to decorate our tree, we pause as we take out and hang each ornament to reflect upon the magical family vacations we’ve had.

Disney Days of Christmas – Downtown Disney

As soon as you step through the doors of Disney Days of Christmas, you are magically transported to the Christmas season. Located in the heart of the Downtown Disney Marketplace, Disney Days of Christmas is your go-to shop for all things Disney Christmas. The shop is decorated from floor to ceiling with twinkling lights and Christmas decor.   Murals and statues depict the “Disney Days of Christmas”, a take on the popular Christmas song.  From one “Mickey in a Yule Tree” to “12 Fairies Flitting”, you can find these days on display inside and outside the store. Beautifully decorated Christmas trees are arrayed throughout the shop, giving you all the inspiration you need for creating your own Disney-themed tree. This shop also has the best selection of ornaments at the resort, neatly organized by theme and/or characters.  Personalization is available on site for free with the purchase of any ornament. From ornaments to stockings to home decor, you can find it all here, where everyday is Christmas.

Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe – Liberty Square, Magic Kingdom

The Colonial era feel of Liberty Square make this quaint little shop feel like something right out of “A Christmas Carol”.  The shop is located within three connected buildings: Icabod Crane’s Music shop, The Woodwright Shop, and the Kepple quilt shop.  As you move from building to building within the store, you can spot items from each building’s origins, sometimes tucked away behind the christmas decor and merchandise.

Christmas trees, ornaments, and character stockings hung by the chimney with care create a Adding to the magic, each day at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, a lucky family is selected to decorate one of their Christmas trees, and it remains on display with the family’s name for all guests to see until the next morning.

It’s a Wonderful Shop – Streets of America, Disney Hollywood Studios

Nestled in a quiet corner, you might mistakenly take this shop for one of the Streets of America’s many movie facades.  But this is an actual store.  When you step inside, you discover that you’ve stumbled upon an antiques shop that has been transformed into a Christmas movie set.

Lights and camera equipment are on hand, and the original antiques can be seen in the back of the store.  The front of the store has been transformed with holiday decorations and fake snow.  There is even a snowman right outside the window.

Die Wiehnachts Ecke – Germany Pavilion, Epcot

This store translates from German as “The Christmas Corner”.  Within are a number of Christmas trees decorated with German ornaments, including the famouse “Pickle Tree”.  This tree is totally adorned in Christmas Pickle ornaments.  The tradition of hiding the Christmas Pickle on the tree is one enjoyed by many families.  On Christmas Eve, the pickle is hidden in the boughs of the tree, and on Christmas morning, the first child to spot the pickle is gifted with an extra present from St. Nicholas.

It's a Wonderful Shop is one of my favorite shops in the parks! I love that it's tucked away and I can find a little Christmas in DHS all year long. :)
