DisDad Ryan Treichler and family as Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
You know what adults can do at Walt Disney World this time of year that you can’t do any other time? Dress up in costume! At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, wearing costumes is not only allowed, but strongly encouraged! If you’re like us and you can’t be there this Halloween, you can still dress up in Disney style at home. Here’s a look at some great costumes guests have worn at the parks, along with some Disney themed Halloweens from our family.
Disney Halloween Costumes for the Whole Family
Disney has a dress code for its theme parks. One of the things Disney doesn’t want in its parks, and understandably so, is adults in costumes. Think of the confusion there would be, especially with the more realistic costumes.
That’s one of the reasons Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is so special. It’s the one time adults are allowed to wear full costumes in the parks.
DisDad James Goodman and family took advantage of this and dressed like characters from Beauty and the Beast
And as James shared with us on Facebook, it made for a very special moment in New Fantasyland:
James wrote:
“We were in Gaston’s Tavern Friday night for the MNSSHP, when Gaston burst in to torment Belle (played by my sister) – he was hilarious. Got some photos of them together. Other guests were also taking photos thinking she was the REAL BELLE.”
And Here’s DisDad Randall Heibert and Family at WDW with their take on Peter Pan.
Our Family’s Disney Halloween Costumes
We attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party twice. First in 2016 as a couple, then as a family in 2017. As you can see by our family costume, you don’t have to go all out to get into the Halloween spirit.
For many years, we’ve dressed up for Halloween as a family. Here are some of our favorite Disney-themed costumes:
