#DisneySide Golden Mickey Party Part 2 – The Food

We received free products, including our celebration kit, from Disney Parks and Mom Select in order to host the #DisneySide @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are our own.

The best part of any party is the food and our #DisneySide Golden Mickey party was no exception. We went above and beyond to make sure all of our guests were well fed.

Since the start of the party was at 3 o’clock, we opted to serve appetizers and snack food. We made sure that everything fit with our movie theme.

The Concession Stand:

When I go to see a movie in the theaters, I love to chow down on popcorn and candy. Our concession stand had a variety of movie candy, chocolate covered Mickey pretzels and popcorn boxes.

The Appetizers:

When selecting the food we served at the party, we wanted to make sure it went along with the theme. We decided to choose our appetizers based on award winning Disney movies.
Here is the menu:
The menu design was inspired by the Golden Mickey Dinner Menu from DCL
The food tags were movie markers. Each said the name of the food, the movie it was based on and the award the movie won.

We also served a Golden Mickey Punch which was Mango/Passion Fruit Juice and Sprite.

The VIP Food:

The kids, or our “VIPs”, had a fun and movie themed spread as well.

Here’s their menu:

The highlight of their table was the two fruit arrangements I made for them. I used the cookie cutters from the kit to cut our Mickey shapes. Then I attached the fruit to left over sticks from a fruit bouquet I had received. (tutorial coming soon)

The Dessert:

Our dessert display included:

  • Mickey and Minnie Golden Cake Pops
  • Hidden Mickey Cupcakes
  • Decorate your own Mickey cookie bar
  • Brownies

All of our guest had a great time and left feeling very stuffed!

If you could think of an appetizer based on a movie, what would it be?

Thanks so much, Amy! The Oscars inspired the theme for our party. So hopefully people can take some of what we did and incorporate it into their Academy Awards night. Thanks again for the kind feedback.
