Looking for an incredible family experience in New York City this summer? OVO from Cirque du Soleil is coming to Brooklyn in July and Long Island in August.

OVO from Cirque du Soleil

We’ve been fans of Cirque du Soleil since we first saw La Nouba at Walt Disney World Resort.  OVO looks like the perfect family show for our kids’ first-ever Cirque du Soleil experience!  Read on to find out more about OVO and get a discount on tickets!

What is OVO?

OVO, which means “egg” in Portuguese, is a production of a colorful ecosystem where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.

When a mysterious egg appears in the midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives. It is love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community, and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

The cast of OVO is comprised of 50 performing artists from 12 countries specializing in many acrobatic acts. One highlight of OVO is the stunning Flying Act in which a group of scarabs soar high above the stage, from both edges to the middle landing on a platform.

With it’s amazing acrobats, colorful sets and costumes, and cute story, OVO looks like it’s the perfect family experience!

OVO will be performing at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY July 5-9, 2017.

OVO will be performing at NYCB Live, home of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY from August 30 – September 3, 2017.
