We may be in the minority, but we’re big fans of Duffy, the Disney Bear. You may have seen him at Epcot, or caught his bedtime story on the Walt Disney World resort TV, but did you know that Duffy has a friend named ShellieMay?

It’s understandable if you didn’t. ShellieMay doesn’t appear at Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Until very recently, she’s never been seen in the United States. Duffy’s friend has finally made her way to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii.

So, where did ShellieMay come from? Well, if you know Duffy’s story, then you know that he was made by Minnie for Mickey. Duffy then wanted a friend of his own, so Minnie made another.

Does that mean ShellieMay will be coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland? There are no plans yet, despite the incredible popularity of both Duffy and ShellieMay at the international parks.

I love Duffy and desperately want Shellie May to come to Epcot. I would love to see a lot more clothes for both of them. A Disney trip is not complete until we go to Epcot and get a picture taken with Duffy

How stinkin' cute is the photo of the two little bear butts walking away! Hehe- they're adorable! I'm not a huge fan of Duffy, seriously only because I purchased the golden book style children's book at Once Upon a Toy years ago and would read my son that story...Disney Bear went on an adventure after dark with Mickey in the parks while his friends slept. Then the other story emerged involving the cruise... regardless, ShellieMay is adorable and if she shows up at WDW I'll pose for a photo!

We have that same book! That was back when he was just "Disney Bear". He didn't catch on and then the company that oversees Tokyo Disney bought the rights, gave him a makeover and a new backstory and he became a star over there. Then he returned here with his new story and everyone was like, what?. lol. My kids love him, though. And that's what matters.

That's very interesting! I'll be honest, I'm not a big Duffy fan, but he is growing on me! I would like to see ShellieMay! They would be cute strolling through World Showcase together! :)
