Looking for a deal on the Nintendo Switch this holiday season? We are too. The Nintendo Switch has been on our son’s wish list for a while. But sales on the console are hard to find.
Why Buy The Nintendo Switch?
The Nintendo Switch is not your typical gaming system. For years, gamers had to choose between playing the best and most modern games with the most awesome graphics on their computers or big-name consoles at home; or settling for lesser games on smaller screens of portable devices so they could play them wherever they went.
And then the Nintendo Switch came along with the ability to be a hand-held device AND a console you played on your big-screen TV. While some will say it doesn’t top the list of either consoles or hand-helds, the Nintendo Switch does both extremely well, which makes it unique, and popular.
In short, we think it’s great for families because there are a lot of great games for the Nintendo Switch (Check out our look at the new Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020). Plus, it gives families a console system that doesn’t necessarily have to have a room dedicated to it.
Want the kids to play in their room? Done. Want to play together in the living room? Go for it! Want to take it on a long road trip? You can do that.
Parents will also love that the Nintendo Switch features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access.
But enough about the why. You’re probably reading this because you already know you want one and just want to know where to get the best deal.
Nintendo Switch Black Friday Deals
Last year, we didn’t see any crazy good deals on the Nintendo Switch, which retails for $300. I think I saw some retailers offering a $50 store gift card with purchase when I was shopping around. Googling it tells me it was as low as $239 – $255 without a bundle.
So far, the word on the street is that the best deal on the console itself for Black Friday will be a bundle deal with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $300. So you get the console at regular price and they throw in the $60 game. That’s not a bad deal if Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a game on your wish list, as well.
Nintendo Switch Game Deals
In addition to the bundle, several Nintendo Switch games will be available at a suggested retail price of only $39.99 each – that’s $20 off their regular suggested price. This software offer begins on Nov. 27 at participating retailers. Players looking to explore fantastic worlds or engage in some friendly competition with family and friends can take advantage of the $20 discount on games like
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Super Mario Party
- Splatoon 2
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Tennis Aces
- Kirby Star Allies
Nintendo Switch Accessory Deals
Additional Black Friday offers include a pair of Joy-Con controllers (Gray or Neon Red & Neon Blue) at a suggested retail price of $59.99 ($20 off), and the Poké Ball Plus accessory to use with the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! games (sold separately) at a suggested retail price of only $19.99 ($30 off). The Joy-Con offer starts on Nov. 27, with the Poké Ball Plus promotion beginning on Nov. 28 at participating retailers.
