Virtual Visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has undergone some massive changes lately. So if you haven’t visited in a while, it is going to look a lot different with the additions of Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge.

In our virtual visit, you don’t have to worry about getting FastPass+ or a boarding group. No lines no waiting for these attractions and shows.

Virtual Walt Disney World Series

Our virtual Walt Disney World series is just a fun way to explore and enjoy the parks when you can’t be there. Because the majority of these videos are from the guest’s point of view (POV), they can be even more fun viewed through VR headsets for your phone, or by projecting it on a wall or viewing on a big screen tv.

You can even get creative and make ride vehicles to sit in and add your own special effects. Have fun with it!!

And because it’s all virtual, you can hop from park to park as much as you want. Here are the links to the other parks:

Virtual Visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Formerly known as Disney/MGM Studios, the park opened in 1989. You can take a Disney bus, boat, Skyliner, or drive to get to the park.

Skyliner to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hop aboard the newest way to get around parts of Walt Disney World Resort. The Disney Skyliner system transports guest to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot’s International Gateway, and Disney’s Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation Resorts.

Hop aboard and ride the Skyliner from Pop Century Resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a super-quick change at the Caribbean Beach Resort station.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Walkthrough

Want to just walk around and marvel at all the scenery of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This walking tour takes you all around the park, including the newly opened Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where you might spot Kylo Ren and some First Order stormtroopers.

Hollywood Boulevard

Hollywood Boulevard is the main street of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s lined with shops filled with merchandise and treats. And you can also grab something to eat or drink at the Starbucks Trolley Cafe.

Citizens of Hollywood

Often seen on the streets of Disney’s Hollywood Studios are the “Citizens of Hollywood”. These colorful people are always willing to put their talents on display in the hopes of fulfilling their Hollywood dreams.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

“Zip away on a zany adventure through a cartoon universe crammed with surprises” on the brand-new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This attraction recently replaced The Great Movie Ride inside the Chinese Theater at the end of Hollywood Boulevard. We haven’t been on it for real yet, but this virtual clip should start you right as the ride begins. (you can scroll back for the queue and pre-show experience)

Sunset Boulevard

Hang a right onto Sunset Boulevard and follow it down toward the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This is where you’ll also find Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and the Lightning McQueen Racing Academy.

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

The “tale as old as time” is brought to life in a Broadway-style production that is very entertaining for a 25-minute show.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

Join Lightning McQueen and friends as he shows you what it takes to become a championship racer.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

This thrill ride is not for everyone. But in this virtual ride, anyone can race through the dark freeways of L.A. with Aerosmith’s music blaring.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

While the one in Disneyland got a Marvel makeover, this beloved attraction is still going strong in Florida. Take a journey into the Twilight Zone on this virtual version of the iconic thrill ride.

Toy Story Land

Shrink down to the size of a toy and explore Andy’s backyard in Toy Story Land. Laugh as you spin around on the Alien Swirling Saucers, try to get the high score on Toy Story Mania, and ride along on the super-fun Slinky Dog Dash.

Alien Swirling Saucers

Alien Swirling Saucers is a simple ride, but it’s lots of fun for the whole family. It’s one of those attractions that is better at night, so we’ve included a night version with all the lights.

Slinky Dog Dash

Slinky Dog Dash instantly became one of the most popular rides in all of Walt Disney World when it opened. It’s the perfect family roller coaster, as it blends its mild thrills with lots of fun elements.

Toy Story Mania!

Test your carnival skills on Toy Story Mania! The ride is meant to be enjoyed with 3D glasses, which is why the screens will seem blurry without them. We’ve cued up the video to when the ride starts, but you can scroll back to see the queue.

Green Army Drum Corps

While walking around (or even waiting on line) in Toy Story Land, you might see the Green Army Drum Corps on display.

Green Army Patrol

In addition, the Green Army Patrol will demonstrate their boot camp skills and recruit guests to join in on the fun.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Experience a “galaxy far far away” like never before in this immersive land that puts you on the remote planet of Batuu in the time of the struggle between the Resistance and the First Order.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Fly the fastest hunk of junk in the Galaxy as your crew each operates one of four positions in the cockpit. Whether you succeed or fail will depend on how you perform.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

This is one of the most impressive attractions Disney has ever come up with. It’s literally like three different attractions all rolled into one immersive experience.

As of right now, you cannot get FastPass+ for this. Instead, you need to follow the special boarding group procedure to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance once per day.

Of course, you can enjoy it again and again virtually.

Echo Lake

In the Echo Lake area, you can find the O.G. Star Wars attraction: Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, as well as several shows, including Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-along Celebration, and Jedi Training – Trials of the Temple.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue

Star Tours is not part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, because its story line is set in a different time and place in the Star Wars saga. It’s still a great ride, though. It’s meant to be enjoyed with 3D glasses, hence the blurry video screen.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

For the First Time in Forever is a fun re-telling of the story of Anna and Elsa, with many of the great songs from the movie. And you’re all invited to sing along during those songs!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

Go behind the scenes to see what goes into creating all the action in an Indiana Jones movie during this live stage show.

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple

Young padawans can learn the ways of the force and train to be Jedi warriors. Then they can show their skills against the dark side when Darth Vader and Kylo Ren appear.

Grand Avenue

Grand Avenue does not have any rides, but it is home to the Muppet Courtyard, which includes PizzeRizzo and the Muppetvision 3D show.

Muppetvision 3D

Join Kermit, Ms. Piggy and the whole Muppet Gang on a tour of Muppet Labs in this 3D show. Of course, without the right glasses, it will look blurry.

Animation Courtyard

The Animation Courtyard is home to the Star Wars Launch Bay and a couple of shows: Disney Junior Dance Party and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Disney Junior Dance Party

The Disney Junior Dance Party is great for the younger kids. Featuring Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Timon, and Mickey Mouse, the show encourages kids to get up and dance along with their favorite Disney Junior music.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The story of Ariel is brought to life with a mix of human actors, elaborate puppetry, and projection on stage.

Nighttime Spectaculars

Disney Movie Magic

This 10-minute projection show displays scenes from various Disney movies on to the facade of the Grauman’s Chinese Theater and adjacent buildings to create a magical movie montage.

Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is a show unlike any other you’ll see at Walt Disney World. It’s a story that weaves in elements of many Disney movies, and it’s done with live performers, special effects, water projections, and a 40-foot tall dragon.

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

The Galactic Spectacular combines fireworks and projection to bring the Star Wars Saga to life.

Wonderful World of Animation

This projection show highlights the history of Disney animation, including Pixar movies. It spans from the earliest Mickey Mouse shorts all the way up to Toy Story 4. Throughout the show, fireworks are mixed in, as well.

Well, that’s it. We hope you enjoyed this virtual tour of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. What park do you want to head to next?
